Course programme
Why are the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer? Did you watch Live 8 and Comic Relief and wonder how we can bring about more balance to our world? Do you have an urge to
go travelling?
If you've answered yes to some of these questions then World Development is for you! Including aspects of Geography, Economics, Politics and Sociology, with emphasis on developing countries, it is ideal for anyone interested in global affairs.
Subjects you may look at include poverty, the environment, aid, globalisation, human rights and trade. You'll use case studies from around the world including countries such as Zambia,
Mongolia and Vvietnam. World Development considers how societies based on fairness and equality can be created.
An ideal accompaniment to the social sciences and humanities or an alternative to science and the arts - World Development has something for everyone.
