Yoga: The Path of Grace

triyoga once again celebrates the holiday season with its seventh annual 'Urban Retreat' at Primrose Hill bringing the benefits of retreat without the stress of leaving London during the holidays.

The retreat includes traditional yogic practices such as energising and restorative hatha yoga along with meditation, breath-work and contemplation led by two of triyoga's most well-respected teachers, Anna Ashby and Joey Miles. A focused environment and schedule provides the space for introspection and contemplation preparing the way for an auspicious beginning for 2010.

This year's retreat explores what is meant by 'grace' and explores the Sanskrit term 'prasada' which refers to a divine gift or offering. Each day explores this focus beginning with a short chant and contemplation followed by asana practice and meditation. The early afternoon alternates between kirtan (chanting) led by special guest Nikki Slade and satsang where the focus of the retreat is explored through contemplation, journaling and facilitated discussion. The day ends with the rejuvenating practice of restorative yoga and breath-work allowing time and space to absorb the experiences of the day.

Through this 4-day immersion in the various practices and teachings of yoga, a transformative energy builds that offers insight and clarity into the moments of everyday life. The transition from one year to the next offers a perfect time to reflect, contemplate and embrace a new year.
