The aims of the course are to enable you to learn about young people and their personal and social development; to build relationships with young people in a practice-based youth work environment; to learn about the core values in youth work and enable you and young people to reflect on actions and responsibilities within a youth work setting. You will also learn about the social policy context of working with young people and individuals and groups within communities.

About this course
180 UCAS points from at least two A2-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects.
You should also have five GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) in any subjects.

About the course
The School of Health and Social Sciences has well established relationships with many voluntary and statutory agencies within the Bolton area and the wider North West region, for example sport, health and voluntary sector organisations, Bolton Youth Service, faith groups, the Youth Offending Team and Connexions.
Guest speakers who are specialists in the field of youth and community work share their substantial experience by giving talks as guest lecturers on the course.
All teaching staff have professional experience in the field of youth and community work and will give you excellent support throughout your studies.
