The aim of this unit is to enable the candidate to demonstrate that they are conversant with the IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671:2008. Suitable for: This qualification is primarily aimed at practicing electricians and other allied professionals e.g. electrical engineers, contracts managers, designers, consultants, surveyors and other related trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of the IEE Wiring Regulations. It is intended to ensure that on completion individuals are conversant with the format, content and the application of the new 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.

Course Overview
The new C&G 2382-12 replaces the 2382-10 quaslification. It incoirporates the First Amendments to BS 7671: 2008, which come into effect 1 January 2011. This qualification covers topics such as protection for safety, selection and erection of equipment, and inspection and testing to meet the standards of the IEE Wiring Regulations. Successful learners could progress to our qualifications in Inspection, Testing, Design and Certification of Electrical Installations (2392). There are eight outcomes to this unit. These outcomes relate to Parts 1-7 and the Appendices of BS7671:2008.

Candidates who achieved the City & Guilds Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installation for the 16th Edition after 2001, the C&G 2381, can undertake our update qualification - the 2382-20.
This course will provide an insight into the changes between BS 7671:2001 and BS 7671:2008. It will focus on the changes in terminology, new additions, deleted regulations and reasoning behind the new tabulated values.
The examination is a 2 hour multiple choice, open book, on-line examination with instant results. Successful learners could progress to our qualifications in Inspection, Testing, Design and Certification of Electrical Installations (2392 & 2391)

Assessment and Grading. This unit will be assessed by a multiple choice online test of 60 questions, lasting for 2 hours, covering the underpinning knowledge of all eight outcomes.
