17th Edition Wiring Regulations

The future of Electrical Training

Qualified electricians will need to comply with the 17th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations from July 2008.

They will need to demonstrate that they are up to date with the requirements of BS 7671:2008. An industry recognised City & Guilds Certificate will enable you to do just that.

What Are The New Qualifications?Full Course: C&G 2382-10 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2008) IEE Wiring Regulations
  • Level 3
  • 35 GLH (Guided Learning Hours) NOTE: Our learning hours may well exceed Guilds GLH in order to FULLY address the teaching aims and objectives.
  • Single GOLA assessment: 60 Questions 2 Hours
  • Specifically addresses the content of BS 7671.

Did you know:

The City & Guilds Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (2381) had in many cases become misunderstood and misused as a qualification that no longer addressed the requirements of BS 7671.

At the time of the introduction of the 16th Edition qualification it was originally the assessment of a full 16th edition training program. As a result of changes to the 16th edition there was a requirement for update training and this qualification and the training changed 2381 was only used to bring a qualified person up to date with the changes and amendments in the latest edition (e.g. 16th) of the regulations since they last qualified.

The ‘full’ wiring reg’s qualification has disappeared and so this new qualification seeks to bring that back.

At P & R Hurt we always delivered a full 5 day training course, and (with the exception of the UPDATE C&G2382-20) continue to do so.
