Study Method:
This programme is divided into 18 units. An organised timetable of units throughout the programme allows lectures and demonstrations to introduce skills and disciplines. Practical projects and exercises are set to ensure understanding. You will also be required to complete a new key skills programme based on Information Technology, Communications and Numeracy.
Duration :Two years.
Who the Course is For:
The course is for people who wish to gain a recognised BTEC qualification in 3D Design. Your main interest will be in Product Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Professional Modelmaking or Animation.
3D Design is an exciting and creative area of work which allows you to explore and develop your personal career interests in a professional manner within your chosen field. These career options are available within the BTEC National Diploma 3D Design programme.
Assessment:
Assessments are carried out by your course team and by external examiners.
Tutorials take place throughout the year.
Course Leads To:
The course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the creative art, craft & design industries, or for entry to a BTEC Higher National Diploma or degree programme.
The qualification is nationally recognised with a focus on the practical application of basic skills and knowledge required by designers today.
Entry Requirements:
The minimum entry requirements is four GCSEs at grade C or their equivalent. One of these subjects should show your abilitiy to use written English. You also need to provide visual evidence of your abilities in Art, Design and Technology.
Selection is through interview and evaluation of a portfolio of work including drawings, designs, models and photographs.
