Course programme
A student who wishes to study full-time to progress to university courses having recently achieved a range of GCSE and AS qualifications.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?Two AS Levels at grades A - D including this subject. E grades will be considered on an individual basis. GCSE English grade B or above.
What will I study ?A2 History Paper 3, Option 37.2: Germany, 1871 - 1990: united, divided and re-united (30% of overall A Level). A2 History Paper 4, Coursework: The controversy over the extent German responibility for the outbreak of World War 1 (20% of overall A Level).
How will I be assessed ?You will take 3 exams; papers 1 and 2 on what you studied in your first year, and paper 3 and the coursework on what you studied in your second year.
What qualifications could I achieve ?On successful completion of this subject, the candidate will gain an A Level certificate in History.
How do I join the course ?You must complete a full-time application form and make an appointment for an interview with a tutor. References will be required from your previous educational establishment.
Will I need an interview ?Yes, before you can enrol.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?Yes, textbooks to be advised at Induction.
