Course programme

You will need to have completed the AS Level in this subject to an appropriate level before you can enrol.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
OPEN LEARNING is a way of studying by a "non-traditional" method, where you can study at your own pace and fit in your learning with work and family commitments. It is ideal for anyone who is unable to attend classes on a regular basis. This course is perfect if you want to achieve an A Level for further study, work or just out of interest

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
If you have taken one of the NEC prescribed combinations of units and achieved AS Mathematics or AS Pure Mathematics, this course will enable you to further develop your understanding of the subject and achieve an 'A' level qualification. Depending on which AS option you selected you can choose from a further selection of units in order to achieve the full 'A' level Mathematics.

HOW WILL I LEARN?
The course has been written in a practical and interactive style with activities and self-check questions. The course materials are:
  • a total of 3 folders featuring self-contained topics that are structured to help you learn
  • a total of 7 assignments for the course that will help you to prepare for exams
WHAT CAN THIS COURSE LEAD TO?
University/college entrance
