About this course

A minimum of 5 A C GCSE subject passes, including a minimum of grade B in Double Science or B in Single Science (Physics) and B in maths. It would be preferable to study A Level Maths alongside A Level Physics.

What is the course about?
The course is for people who like solving problems! You will examine a number of topics including mechanics, quantum phenomena, nuclear processes and thermodynamics through both theoretical investigation and practical experiments.

Will I need anything else?

How long & often do I attend?
4 hours 30 minutes per week for two years

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by modular examinations and two coursework activities including internal practical exams.

What opportunities will this lead to?
You could progress to a BSc Hons degree in Physics, Engineering, Aeronautics or Nuclear Science. Following this you could enter employment in a range of jobs including a medical physicist, astrophysicist, aeronautical engineer, civil engineer or a mechanical engineer.
