A Level Biology
Biology is a varied and challenging subject, which has a major impact in today's world . It covers the functioning of the molecules that make up living things, together with the physiology of plants and animals. You will study immunology and various diseases including malaria, HIV and cardiopulmonary disorders. Biology also encompasses the ecological impact of the human species, genetics and biochemistry. The subject is applied in a wide range of careers e.g. veterinary science, medicine and other health care related careers, food science, environmental management, bioinformatics, genetic engineering and nano-technology. Biology is therefore very much a science of the future with wide-ranging and exciting career opportunities.
Exam Board / Specification: OCR
Subject entry requirements: In addition to GCSE English and Mathematics both Grade C, you will need B in Science and B in Additional Science or B in GCSE Biology. Please note that Applied Science is not accepted for this course.
