Course Summary:
Would you like to develop your skills in analysing mainstream and alternative films while discovering more about all aspects of the film industry? This course covers production, distribution and exhibition of films and there are opportunities for you to try your hand at film-making.
Entry requirements

Course programme

Course Content: At AS Level: Exploring Film Form (coursework) British and American Film (examination) At A2 Level: Film Research and Creative Project (coursework) Varieties of Film Experience: Issues and Debates (examination) How will I be assessed? For AS Level there are two units - one examination and one coursework unit. The exam is worth 60% and the coursework unit is worth 40% of the final marks. For the A2 qualification, there are two further units - one examination and the coursework unit. Each of these units are worth 50% of the final marks. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? This course requires additional study of films so there may be cinema ticket or DVD hire costs. What can I do after this course? Progression to A2 Level is available to those who achieve a grade D or above at AS Level. Upon successful completion of the course, you can consider a wide range of film and media-related degree courses in higher education as well as film and media-related careers, with options including journalism, broadcasting, photography and TV production.
