A Level Philosophy will give you the opportunity to explore the possibilities and limitations of knowledge and how we live our lives. As you study the works of various philosophers, you will develop your ability to handle abstract thought and to construct logical arguments.
You will ask yourself:
· Why is there something rather than nothing?
· What can I be certain about?
· What makes something good?
· Am I the same person I was ten years ago?
At AS Level you will study four units:
· Knowledge and experience
· The value of art
· Why should I be governed
· Persons.
At A2 Level you will study a set text and thematic study.
How will I be assessed?
