What will I do on this course?
A Level Photography will provide you with the skills required to take photographs using a manual SLR camera, process black and white film and print your own images. Digital photography is an important area of the course, and skills in photo-editing software will be introduced as the year progresses. The course is a combination of theory-based sessions and practical work, enabling you to become fully proficient in all areas of photography. Ideas and outcomes are further enhanced through the development of presentation and communication skills. We have a good supply of the latest technology and our darkroom and processing equipment is extensive.
How will I be assessed?
A combination of coursework and practical examinations.

At least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C, to include Mathematics and English Language. It is also essential to have Art or Photography at grade C or above.
Progression
The majority of our students choose to progress to the Foundation Diploma in Photo Media offered at Weston College, others progress to university to study photography related degrees. A qualification in photography offers great flexibility for work within the professional field, including fashion, advertising, TV and film.
