Psychology will help you understand yourself and other people.  You will study both concious and unconscious thought processes, analyse behaviour and apply your knowledge to everyday life.  At AS level you will study topics such as the importance of early childhood relationships to later social and emotional well-being, the influence of other people within our social environment, our adherence to social norms and the mental processes involved in memory and recall. You will also develop a good understanding of research methods and will be required to apply that understanding.  At A level you will study further topics in social, developmental and abnormal psychology in greater depth and develop your critical analysis through the study of controversies and debates within psychological research.
