Course AimsThis course is designed and structured to provide training in the safe use of abrasive wheels and meets with the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98). The course will enable candidates to understand the health and safety requirements placed on employers and employees and how their own actions can reduce risks to health and safety.

Target Audience

The course is intended to make employees at all levels aware of their responsibilities for safety in the use of abrasive wheels for all types of cutting and grinding applications (Stihl Saw, Angle Grinder, Chop Saw, Bench/Pedestal Grinder, Surface Grinder, Cylindrical Grinder etc).

Course Duration

This course is normally delivered over half a day (3 hours).

Candidates who successfully complete the course can be awarded a Coleg Gwent certificate of attendance and may also wish to progress to our full range of accredited health and safety qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH or City & Guilds NVQs.
