Course Overview:
The course is designed for:
An employer who appoints a person to be competent in the mounting of abrasive wheels
Someone who has used an abrasive wheel appliance in their own working environment and who needs to be aware of the operating and mounting of grinding wheels, and require a knowledge of, or familiarisation with the regulations.
The training course has been designed and structured to comply with the requirements of the Provisions and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 1998) and the Health and Safety Executive Publication ‘Safety in the Use of Abrasive Wheels’ (HSG17).
On completion of the course, the learner will have gained the knowledge required to mount an abrasive wheels in a safe environment, supported by the knowledge of legal requirements under Provisions and Use of Work Equipment 1998 (PUWER).

Course programme
Course Delivery:
The course is delivered on a BESPOKE basis only to organisations and requires a group booking of approximately 8 learners for a fee of £50 pp vat exempt .
(Delivery can be at the college or your own premises)
Abrasive wheels involves the training and development to become an appointed person in the requirement and regulations of mounting abrasive wheels.
The course covers, through theory and a practical demonstration, the requirements for the safe use and mounting of abrasive wheels, abrasive wheels used for bench grinders and portable hand tools.

The course is delivered as a 1/2 day session and which includes theory and a practical demonstration of mounting wheels. .
