This course enables the trainer to deliver in-house training to the workforce to ensure risks of injury are reduced or eliminated. The course is designed to update delegates on legislation and regulations applicable to abrasive wheels. The course also covers hazards and precautions, and the recommended documentation requirements. Suitable for: All managers, HSE personnel and supervisors who are required to give in-house training and presentations to delegates on the safe use of abrasive wheels. Also those who are responsible for the changing of abrasive wheels, or those who supervise abrasive wheel operations.

The course is designed to update delegates on legislation and regulations applicable to abrasive wheels. The course also covers hazards and precautions, and the recommended documentation requirements.

CONTENT: Hazards and Precautions; Markings on Abrasive Wheels as to their type, size and speed; How to Store, Handle and Transport Abrasive Wheels; Inspections and Testing of Abrasive Wheels for Damage; The Functions of all of the Components used with Abrasive Wheels, i.e. flanges, Blotters, Bushes, Nuts etc; Correct Disassembly and Assembly; Dressing of Abrasive Wheels; Correct Adjustment, i.e. Work Rests, Guards, Spark Guards; PPE; Recommended Documentation Requirements; Instructional Techniques.

The course begins with the standard abrasive wheels course. The delegates will then receive corrective tuition on instructional techniques. Delegates are issued with an NSL certificate of training.

This course is currently delivered at one of NSL's training centres, but can be delivered at the client's premises.

PPE REQUIRED: Coveralls, hard hat, safety boots and gloves.
