Poor performance on the academic part of the course will result in you being removed from the Academy. The Academy cricket training will be held over three days per week. You will be expected to attend every training session as well as every academic lesson. Access to GCSE resits will be prioritised over your access to training. How will I be assessed? Assessment on the study programme will be continuous over the year. Assessment methods will vary depending on the subjects delivered. See the Sports Coaching and Development pages for further details. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You are expected to purchase a uniform to wear at College and for practical sessions. Kit costs will vary depending on the items purchased: the cost is non-refundable once the items are ordered. You are also asked to contribute towards the end-of-year celebration event and yearly gym membership. Total costs are approximately £130. There may be additional events during the year to which you are expected to contribute. Financial assistance is available depending on your individual circumstances. You will be expected to have your own pads, helmet and bat. An Academy kit may need to be purchased in agreement with AFCA providers. On successful completion of the course, learners may wish to progress to the Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching or to seek employment within the sport and leisure sector, notably with the Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy or Activate Sport. For learners studying on Level 2 programmes, progression to Level 3 is dependent on your successful achievement of any GCSE resits taken, attendance and course achievements.
