Course content

• Prevent incomplete data by establishing referential integrity. Set and use cascading updates to update primary key values in related tables or cascading deletes to delete related records.
• Link to tables in other databases. Import from, or export to other data sources, such as text files or Excel spreadsheets.
• Create conditional expressions using the In-line If function. Concatenate text fields for display purposes. Use Domain Aggregate functions such as Dlookup to retrieve and filter records.
• Create Unbound/bound, main/sub forms that display filtered records. Work with form objects such as combo boxes and command buttons. Attach event properties to these objects so that forms can be opened/closed and synchronised to display related records.
• Create macros, macro actions, group macros. Use conditional macros to validate data input.
• Customise the database by creating a front end, custom tool bars and a custom menu.
• Change Start up properties to hide the database window, remove in-built Tool bars and menus.
