  • Database features, common terminology, relational database design versus flat file databases, usability issues, database objects, the Access screen and icons, the database container.
  • Using the table wizard and creating tables manually to store data.
  • Create and change table field properties.
  • Create relationships between tables.
  • Index fields to speed up record retrieval.
  • Create a field known as a Primary Key to avoid duplication of data.
  • Create rules that validate data input.
  • Navigate through the data in a table.
  • Finding and replacing data, sorting columns in tables, applying and removing filters, filter criteria.
  • Create forms by using the form wizard, enhancing the design of a form.
  • Retrieve records from a table or from several tables by writing queries.
