2. Course description The QAA Access to HE Diploma in science is an exciting route to Higher Education and a new career in a range of science disciplines. The Diploma is composed of a number of units with a level and credit value. Students must achieve 60 credits in total. 15 of the credits are from ungraded units and 45 are graded and are determined as Pass Merit and Distinction. The course offered by the college has been developed and now offers two path ways and an element of choice depending on whether your focus is chemistry/biology or chemistry/physics. The course culminates in a scientific project. The best students of the year also have the chance of their project also receiving accreditation by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
