Flexible Study Programmes

We offer flexible study programmes combining level 2 and level 3 with distance learning and more traditional taught sessions. We also have courses starting in September and January. This flexibility means that we can offer programmes of study which are tailored to your individual career progression needs.

• Level 3 Access course studied intensively over one day per week plus distance learning: Tuesdays


• Level 3 Access course over one year, studied over 2 days per week: Weds/Thurs or Tues/Weds


• Level 2 and Level 3 combined Access programme over 18 months: Mon/Tues


• Level 2 and Level 3 combined Access programme over 2 years: Year 1 Wednesdays


• GCSEs Maths, English, Science

Most Access courses offer some option units which enable students to select units specifically linked to their career goal and university course. On the Access to Science and Nursing pathways students can select greater or fewer credits in science according to university progression requirements; however, these choices must be determined PRIOR to enrolment on the course. No changes to the planned programme of study can be made once the course has started.

Specific and accurate advice and guidance can only be provided through a full one to one discussion with you at interview where we can discuss the entry requirements of your chosen university course and plan a programme of study that will enable you to succeed in achieving your career goal.

Please be prepared for your interview. Bring copies of all your existing qualifications in Maths, English and Science and any information you have relating to university progression courses and their entry requirements. In addition, some university courses require you to have work related experience before applying so be prepared to discuss this at your interview.
