Our one-year Access to Science course is expressly designed for students without A Levels who wish to study Science at a higher level. If you are keen to progress to either university or vocational training this course is ideal for you. You can choose between a Science and Radiography pathway and those who choose Radiography will need to follow a work-shadowing placement. As a placement is essential tor developing your basic knowledge and practical skills, the College will provide an introductory letter to help with this process.

Course programme

Access is an intensive course so you do need to be committed to hard work and are required to maintain 100% attendance. In order to manage strict work deadlines you are expected to self-study for a minimum of 10 extra hours a week and must be able to cope with the workload. The Access to HE Diploma in Science is composed of the following subjects areas: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Study Skills. Tutorial content is broken down into units and assessed continuously. Tutorials support the students' progress, particularly during their application into Higher Education.
