Summary
This course is designed for adults who wish to enter University, Higher Education Institutions and Colleges. It can also lead onto diplomas or professional training courses.
About the Course
This course will begin with units to help you with study skills before progressing to units drawing on Sociology, Psychology, Social Policy and Social Work Studies. It is for people who want to work towards applying to university to study Social Work, Social Care and related degrees.

The course is timetabled within normal school hours 9.30 am - 3.00 pm, to fit around your family life, there are no classes in school holidays.

What are the entry requirements?
How is the course assessed?
During the course you will be asked to complete a number of units, which will build a bank of course credits. You will need to accumulate 60 credits including a minimum of 45 at Level 3. Each unit comprises a number of assignments such as essays, reports, presentations or short tests. You will be given two or three weeks to prepare and completed each assignment. Students pass or fail, with individual references indicating the level of achievement for the benefit of Higher Education admissions.

Are there any other costs?
You should not lose any benefits from returning to study via the Access course as it has less than 16 hours of contact time.
