Introduction:
The Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) in Accountancy and Finance course is designed specifically for students planning a career in the Accountancy profession and/or the wider financial sector. Apart from the additional finance content which offers a specialisation for entering the professions in the banking and investment industries, the main difference from the single Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) programme is that there is no requirement to do a dissertation in Semester 8.
The Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) in Accountancy and Finance degree is also accredited by ICAS, CIMA, CIPFA and ACCA who will grant you significant exemptions from their exams when you have a Stirling degree.
Accounting & Finance at Stirling is ranked 3rd in Scotland and 14th in the UK, according to the 2017 Good University Guide.
According to the 2016 National Student Survey, 91% of students were satisfied overall with the quality of teaching, and across all questions in the survey, Accounting & Finance at Stirling received the highest score of all Scottish universities.

IELTS: 6.0 with 5.5 minimum in each skill
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Grade C
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Grade C
Pearson Test of English (Academic): 54 with 51 in each component
IBT TOEFL: 80 with no subtest less than 17

The Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) in Accountancy and Finance course is designed specifically for students planning a career in the Accountancy profession and/or the wider financial sector. Semesters 1–3
You will take core modules in the following:
- Accounting I
An understanding of the basic concepts required to prepare and analyse financial statements. - Accounting II
An examination of the basic accounting techniques used by management accountants to help in decision making and in the formulation of future plans. - Finance I
An examination of the two key aspects of corporate finance: the financing decision and the investment decision. The evaluation of investment risk and return. Introduction to financial securities and financial markets. Basic principles of security valuation.
You are also required to study Economics (Introductory Economics), Business Management (The Global Business Environment) and Business Law.
Semesters 4–8
You will develop a critical understanding and analytical approach to subjects directly relevant to Accountancy and Finance.
Core advanced modules include:

- Accounting Information and Employment
- Quantitative Methods for Business Decisions
- Personal Financial Planning
- Applied Management Accounting
- Taxation
- Advanced Financial Accounting
- Auditing
You will choose further advanced modules in accountancy and finance from a list of electives.
