About this course
There are no formal qualifications required but students must possess reasonable numeracy and literacy skills. Some accounting or basic book keeping experience would be an advantage. Applicants will be invited to attend a short, informal interview prior to the course commencing and will be expected to attend a special enrolment day.

The programme will cover the following topics:
- Recording for Income and Receipts
- Making and Recording Payment
- Preparing ledger and Trial Balances
- Information for Management Control
- Working with Computers
- Health and Safety
- Personal Effectiveness
Students successfully completing this Intermediate stage can progress to the AAT Intermediate NVQ3 qualification.
Assessments/Examinations
The course is examined by four AAT'set Simulations (assignments) throughout the year, 2 small Case Studies, one examination in June and coursework assignments.

The AAT is a professional body.
Students will need to arrange and pay registration and examination fees direct to the AAT. Currently fees are:
AAT Student Admission fee: (one off)£33
UK Student annual membership fee:£72
Foundation exam fee:£41
Students will need to purchase a recommended textbook, currently retailing at approximately£30.
