The programme gives you an understanding of the legal, business and social environments in which accountancy operates and enables you to be conversant in the technical languages and practices of the accounting sector in a market economy. These include measurement and disclosure in financial statements, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation and business law. Suitable for: Students who are interested in following a career in accountancy or in going on to obtain professional accounting qualifications prior to entering a career in business.

Programme Structure
During each year of study at Exeter you must take modules totalling 120 credits. In your Final Year you can take up to 30 credits in a subject outside the School, subject to prior approval. Please note that all options are timetable permitting, and that options may change.

Learning and Teaching
Our undergraduate programmes utilise a range of teaching methods including lectures, seminars and tutorials.
Assessment
Modules are assessed through a mixture of group work, coursework, project work and examinations; the weighting of each of these components will vary according to the academic requirements of the module. Coursework assignments are typically between 2,500 and 6,000 words in length and examinations are normally held at the end of the module.
You must pass your first year assessments in order to proceed to the second year. Degree classification is awarded on the basis of performance in assessments at the end of the second and final years.
