Adobe Fireworks Level 2

Course objectives:
-Create and edit vector paths precisely and efficiently using the pen and sub-selection tools
-Wrap text on a path and convert text to paths
-Sharpen images and improve their contrast precisely
-Create image effects such as cloning, masking, and patterns
-Create and edit complex rollover behaviours, including multi-state navigation bars and drop-down lists
-Use instances of symbols throughout a web site, and modify the original symbol to update all instances
-Create animation and buttons using symbols
-Modify HTML export settings to create files that match the format of the HTML editor application

Vector paths
-Vector path concepts; identifying vector path concepts
-Drawing and editing rough paths; using the vector path tool; simplifying and reshaping paths
-Creating paths precisely with the pen tool; creating straight segments; creating curved segments; creating multiple segment paths; creating sharp corners; combining straight and curved segments; editing paths with the pointer and sub-selection tools; adding and editing anchor points
-Text and paths; wrapping text on a path; converting text to paths
Image effects
-Improving sharpness and contrast; un-sharp masking; using levels to adjust contrast; using curves to adjust contrast
-Editing images; using the rubber stamp tool; cropping image areas
-Patterns; using patterns
-Masking; creating mask groups
-Saving effects and styles; saving and applying multiple effects; creating and applying styles
Advanced rollovers and slicing
-Triggering rollovers from polygonal areas; preparing slices for rollover effects; creating and preparing frames; creating rollover behaviours for hotspots
-Pop-up menus; creating pop-up menus
-Behaviours; creating and editing behaviours
-Navigation bars; creating a multi-state navigation bar; custom-naming slices and assigning URL's; creating a down state button
Symbols, instances, and animation
-Button symbols; creating button symbols; editing button symbols
