Course programme

This course teaches the fundamentals of creating composite images from multiple photographs. Using landscape photographs you will learn how to blend objects seamlessly onto different backgrounds, altering lighting and colour to render the composite image realistic. As well as teaching the technical expertise, it also considers the creative aspects of creating an imaginary scene.

Taught through a series of tutor-led demonstrations and exercises you will learn the fundamentals of scene creation including: lighting directions, perspective, and composition. You will use techniques to mask complex objects and use adjustment layers and blending modes to alter lighting and add shadows to objects.

Level
Intermediate: Some understanding of Adobe Photoshop is necessary: please complete Adobe Photoshop for Photographers (Introduction), an introductory course in photography, or know how to make selections and use layers.
