Candidates will train to the standard required to pass the City & Guilds examinations for the ADR Vocational Training Certificate on an understanding of the following: The nature of the dangers to which particular dangerous goods being carried may give rise. The action to be taken in an emergency concerning them. Their duties under the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974. Suitable for: All drivers of vehicles with a maximum permissible weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes and carrying dangerous goods in containers/receptacles or in bulk that falls within the scope of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations. Drivers of road tankers within the scope of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations. Drivers of vehicles carrying tank containers within the scope of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations. Drivers of vehicles carrying explosives. Drivers of vehicles carrying radioactive material irrespective of the maximum weight of the vehicle.
