You or your employer will choose from a selection of modules to help you build enough credits for your Apprenticeship. There is one mandatory unit which covers ‘IT Fundamentals'; you will then ‘design’ the rest of your programme by choosing units suitable for your job role, from Web Design to Databases, Collaborative Technologies, Word Processing, Security for IT Users, IT Communication Fundamentals, Presentations, Audio and Video Software, Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Desktop Publishing, Internet Technologies, Emails, Personal Information Management. Developing the Key Skills of English and Maths is crucial to your success on this programme and in your future career.

About this course




Attendance at College will be required for one full day a week. The remainder of work and assessment will happen in the workplace, where an assessor will come to check your work and make sure you are on track. The Apprenticeship is for six months.

Course programme

This Advanced Apprenticeship is a great way to gain 'on the job' experience and a recognised qualification in Information Technology. IT plays an integral role in all industries, and therefore provides interesting and rewarding career and progression opportunities.
On successful completion of this programme you will receive a Diploma in IT Users Level 3. You will also receive certificates for completing Level 2 Key Skills qualifications in Communication and Application of Number.
You will develop your skills and knowledge in the workplace and at College. Assessment includes project work, role-play, oral presentations, case studies, in-class assignments, practical 'hands-on' activities and coursework.
