Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Engineering

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Engineering scheme provides the best possible preparation for achieving skilled and or technician status within the industry. It may also lead to Higher Education or University, IMI Apprentices are encouraged to become Associates of the Institute.

This course requires that you have already achieved the full Level 2 Apprenticeship framework. Advanced Apprentices will ideally have a minimum of 3 GCSEs including Maths, Science and English at grade 4 (C) and above. This level of programme will usually last approximately 12 months. This is only a guide as VCQs in general are not time bound.

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.

The Apprentice has a formal Training Agreement managed by the College. The agreement lays down the commitment and responsibility of the employer and the college. The learner has an Individual Learning Plan which details all the specific units within the VCQ and all the other agreed qualifications, such as Functional Skills, Technical Diploma, ERR and any additional requirements to be achieved during the apprenticeship framework timescale. The learner will have a Programme Leader/Assessor who will be responsible for the training programme. The Programme Leader/Assessor will visit the learner in the workplace on a regular basis, and will assess the learner's progress and review overall progress set against agreed targets.
