About this course
You must be employed in the engineering industry. You should have GCSEs at grade C in Maths, English and Science. However the overall decision is taken by the Course Team Leader (CTL).

What will I study on the course?
Learners will study a classroom based BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering. This will cover a variety of engineering theoretical units. The Level 2 practical portion of the framework is carried at college while the Level 3 is carried out in the workplace. The NVQ 2 consists of 3 compulsory units and 3 optional units that will be selected to follow the bias of the apprentice. The NVQ 3 consists of compulsory units and a set of optional units agreed between the learner his or her employer and the college. The frame work requires that learners complete 5 key/functional skills at Level 2. These are Communications (Literacy), Number (Numeracy), ITC, Manage own learning and Working with others.
