Information about the course

A course developing skills in Promotional Design leading to possible careers in Display, Exhibition Design, Point-of-Sale Design, Model making.

The course is a mix of 2-D and 3-D activities and is mainly project-based and designed to develop knowledge and skills in point-of-sale design, visual merchandising (window display design) and exhibition design. In this way students are able to build a portfolio of work to take to interviews, either for employment or university. There are opportunities for live projects, (e.g. real window displays) plus students undertake 2 weeks work experience during the second year.

The course includes colour/design, lettering 3D design and studio production work, visual merchandising, technical drawing, point-of-sale design, history of art and architecture, marketing, fashion, photography, computer aided design (CAD), extended written study. There is a programme of educational visits and outside speakers.
