Course programme

This new Advanced Marketing programme offers you the opportunity to study Marketing to an advanced postgraduate level.

The Specialist programme is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in Marketing and are seeking to undertake an advanced postgraduate degree in order to enhance their employability.

The underlying premise of the programme is to develop an integrated and critical approach to the study of Marketing. Fundamental to the programme, therefore, is the fostering of a strong relationship between Marketing theory and Marketing practice, and you will be challenged to look beyond the superficial aspects of description and to use deeper levels of analysis to search for more innovative and creative solutions to Marketing issues. You will also be encouraged to consider, in a critical, self-reflexive way, your own positioning in relation to the theories and concepts you engage with.

Programme Content

The programme is structured in two parts. Part One, which comprises semesters one and two, is structured around a range of taught modules. In semester one students take three core modules. In semester two students elect three modules from a choice of four. Part Two of the programme comprises the dissertation element, which runs during semester three.

Core modules:

  • Marketing Theory
  • Marketing Applications
  • Research Methods

Elective modules:

  • Branding
