About this course

This flexible MSc is a stand-alone qualification designed to prepare students to solve problems in materials science and engineering under the exacting conditions we encounter today. The programme is broad, covering many aspects of both the science of materials and engineering applications, and includes course work and original research components. Our students will have access to world leading knowledge and infrastructure by working on real projects as part of established research groups, and you will be motivated to develop your ability to research, design, assess, implement and review solutions to real-life engineering problems across a wide range of materials.

All applicants must apply online. You can usually apply for up to two courses, although your second choice will only be considered if your first-choice application is unsuccessful. Most courses don't have a formal closing date, but popular courses close when they are full, so you should apply early to avoid disappointment. There may also be funding deadlines that apply to you. You will need to upload documents with your applications, which may include...
