No previous experience is necessary but you should have a genuine interest in the subject and a commitment to photograph subjects outside of college course hours. Course programme
This course allows you to learn photography in an enjoyable way. You will achieve a Coleg Gwent Certificate in photography, but the emphasis for the course is on building on existing skills and enjoying photography.
You will study:
In class workshops:
- 35mm film photography, including shooting 35mm film, developing film and scanning
- Medium format film, including shooting medium format film, developing film and scanning
- Large format film, including shooting large format film, developing film and scanning
With weekly briefs, including:
- Experimental imagery
- Mounting/displaying photography
- Cyanotypes – chemical and digital
- Responding to text
- Conceptual photography
- Macro photography
- Low light photography
- Experimental studio
- Star/light trail photography
