About this course


Successful completion of a relevant level 2 qualifcation, or 5 GCSEs (grades A*- C) including English and maths. Learners will be required to attend an interview with the work based learning team and be asked to complete skills assessments in literacy and numeracy. Learners on this course are required to be employed in a suitable work placement.

This course is designed to give you the relevant training and education required to work within the financial services environment. It is aimed at those who are involved in financial services as their primary work activity and have the ability to carry out a range of routine tasks in their role. At advanced level, you will have an understanding of complex functions and activities.



Course content

The course combines developing your practical and theoretical skills at College, together with experience gained in the workplace.


IFS School of Finance Certificate for Financial Advisors. Units include:

  • UK Financial Regulation

  • Investment and Risks

  • Retirement Planning and Protection

  • Assessment of Investment Advice Knowledge


City & Guilds Certificate in Providing Financial Services Level 3. Units include:

  • Complying with Regulations Within the Financial Services Environment

  • Debt Repayment Monitoring

  • Payment Processing

  • Debt Collection Case Management (Pre-legal)

  • Banks and Building Societies

  • General Insurance

  • Life, Pensions and Investment

  • Financing and Credit


As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 2/GCSEs in English and maths.



What are the entry requirements?

if you do not already have one.
