Programme Description:
The course provides a programme of study manageable in a year so that learners can bank, and then build on their achievement.
It encourages progression for those learners who wish to undertake a one year course of study because of individual circumstances.
However, the 90 credits achieved count towards the 180 credits required to complete the Extended Diploma in Land-based Technology at level 3 if the student wishes to progress.
The course provides the training and development needed for students with a keen interest in agricultural engineering who wish to progress to higher education, either at HE or degree level. It covers a broad base of agricultural engineering and, although practically orientated, focuses on the theory behind the engineering technologies involved in the agricultural industry particularly as applied to the design, manufacture and service requirements of agricultural tractors and field machinery.
Year 1 - 90 credits
Year 2 - 120 or 180 credits
