The focus on countries growing more of their own food has intensified over the past decade. Not only does growing our own food reduce our carbon footprint, it reduces unemployment and results in fresher, better tasting meals. Working in agriculture is incredibly fulfilling, as it plays such an important part in meeting the needs of society. What will I learn? This programme provides knowledge about the science of agriculture needed for the upcoming decades and the longer term future, combined with practical experience of both crop and livestock husbandry. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of agriculture. This will include the science behind crops, livestock and molecular farming. You will also develop expertise in modern machinery including precision technologies. You will gain the confidence to work in farm situations, within a wide range of crops and livestock enterprises and make informed decisions for profitable and sustainable outcomes. This degree programme is hands-on with a practical emphasis. As well as gaining data presentation and report writing ability, students will also have the opportunity to develop investigative, observational, research and communication skills.
