This is a course designed for students wishing to have an understanding of, and a career in the Airline Industry. The course aims to give the student as much practical knowledge of working within an aircraft as possible. The College does have its own simulator cabin for assessment purposes. The fourth floor restaurant is also used for assessment purposes.

About this course

College interview and Essential skills screening. 4GCSEs at grade C or above. Satisfactory school report or work references. Height, weight, and health should be in accordance with Airline Industry requirements. Some airlines may have restrictions for international applicants.

Course programme


Course Overview
This is a course designed for students wishing to have an understanding of, and a career in the Airline Industry.
The course aims to give the student as much practical knowledge of working within an aircraft as possible. The College does have its own simulator cabin for assessment purposes. The fourth floor restaurant is also used for assessment purposes.

Course Structure
This programme is a full-time course, taught over 7 months, September 09 to March 10.

The course will cover the following topics:
  • Air Cabin Procedures
  • Customer service
  • First Aid at Work
  • Health & Safety
  • NVQ Food & Drink Service Level 1
  • Aircraft Types
  • Spanish


In addition, students will study the Worldwide Travel Destinations course to give greater knowledge of travel geography.

Qualification Aims
To provide the student with a Level 2 qualification, VRQ equivalent that can be used in industry.

Assessments/Examinations
The main qualification is based upon on-going practical assessments and an on-line exam.
