Deepen your understanding of a range of priority issues in the alcohol and drugs field while you develop the skills required to respond to drug and alcohol harm in a number of professional environments.This one-year, part-time program is designed for professionals who work in fields such as alcohol and drug services, social work, nursing, medicine, pharmacy or health.Study two compulsory courses and two elective courses that will introduce you to key concepts about alcohol and other drug use. This includes treatment of alcohol and drug-related problems.Benefit from a program developed in collaboration with Queensland Health that includes a comprehensive range of political, social, economic, and scientific factors that influence alcohol and drug-related policies, services and treatments.Make the most of the flexibility of this online program. Every course is available externally, as self-paced study modules that fit into your existing schedule. Entry requirementsTo enrol, a person must:hold an approved degree; orboth:have completed post-secondary study; andhave a minimum of 2 years full-time (or equivalent) experience working in a healthcare or public health setting, as approved by the executive dean.International students can only undertake this program on an external basis from their home country and will not be eligible for an Australian student visa.
