Anaphylaxis & Epi-Pen Awareness This course is a 2 hour course and is suitable for any person who is involved in the administration of drugs and needs to be aware of the diagnosis and treatment of anaphylactic reactions. Course Structure: Introduction and welcome Explanation of course Tutor introduction to delegates (background) Delegate introduction to each other Paperwork Contents: • Anaphylaxis overview • Definition • Causes of Anaphylactic and Anaphylactoid Reactions • Recognition of signs and symptoms • Treatment and practice with trainer pens (Epi-pen) • Precautionary methods - Management of the Patient • Child CPR • Adult CPR • Recovery Position Who should attend: Anyone who wishes to learn the lifesaving skills of CPR for all ages, understand anaphylactic shock and Epi-pen administration Course benefits: This awareness course covers drug incompatibilities, contraindications, and enables participants to differentiate between anaphylactic reactions and panic attacks Additional information: This course covers anaphylactic reactions in both adults and children along with the correct administration of adrenaline (epinephrine) Certificates: All delegates who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of attendance Course Evaluation
