AS and A2 Level Psychology Entry Requirements

• For a 3 AS Level programme you will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at A*-C including Maths, and a minimum of B in English Language and Literature.
• For a 4 AS Level programme you will need a minimum of 6 GCSEs at A*-C Maths, and a minimum of B in English Language and Literature.

To progress to A2 Level, a minimum of grade D at AS Level is required.
Entry is subject to a successful interview. If you have been out of education for some time you may wish to consider the Access to Higher Education programme as an alternative to A Levels. Content AS Level:

Social Psychology (Social Influence)
Individual Differences (Abnormality)
A2 Level:
Topics in psychology - three topics to be selected from:
a) Biological rhythms and sleep
b) Relationships
c) Eating behaviour
d) Intelligence and learning
e) Perception
f) Aggression
g) Gender
h) Cognition and development
Psychology in Action
Research Methods, including inferential statistics

Assessment AS Level - two written exams - 1 1/5 hour each
A2 Level - two written exams - 1 1/2 and 2 hours
