Animal Conservation Foundation Degree

There are six core modules that are taken at each academic level, covering basic underpinning knowledge and vocational skills. You will also have the opportunity to select one of two option modules each year. During the first year, modules include: Global Biodiversity and Conservation Introduction to Habitats Ecological Principles Applied Field Studies Applied Animal Management Land-based Business Management including Work-based Learning Practical Conservation skills (option) Biological Classification and Evolution (option). During the second year, modules include: Research Project Experimental Design and Analysis Academic and Professional Development Conservation and Tourism Animal Conservation; Legislation and Ethics Behavioural Ecology Habitat and Environmental Enrichment (option) Environmental Science (option). For the Foundation Degree course students are required to attend a series of lectures, seminars and practicals. Some modules require individuals to undertake directed self-study with tutor support. Guest speakers from various industry-based organisations are used to give a workplace perspective.
