      Course programme

      This course enables learners to extend their 3D design skills by using Maya and LightWave 3D; both industrial-strength photo-realistic 3D modelling and animation software packages for modelling, rendering and animation of 3D objects. Students wishing to join this course will need to have skills in working with computers and a little previous experience in the subject would be useful. Energy and committment to this challenging one year course is essential. Students will gain practical insight into producing animations to exacting film and TV standards. Students will be able to use this software for product design, special effects, jewellery visualisation, also to learn life-like texturing. This knowledge will be vital for development in PC gaming, product design, 3D animation and visualisation for Film/TV or Print. Demonstrations will be given and topics will be learnt and practised through guided, student-centred activity. Continuous assessment will be through completion of assignments. An ideal course for those wishing to discover a fantastic computer-aided design programme, enhance their creative portfolio, further develop their skills and potentially make an application to University. This course is taught using PC's.
