Course Outline

  • Diffusion skills and strategies in dealing with conflict, anger & aggression either face-to-face or over the telephone;
  • Identify appropriate responses to conflict situations; cycle of aggression; physical, emotional and cognitive changes which occur in aggression; basic legislative guidance in managing violence;
  • Implement a post crisis management strategy for dealing with the aftermath; importance of reporting incidences of violence at team briefings;
  • Observe and practice how to breakaway from physical situations which have not responded to or do not allow for therapeutic intervention.
