To provide the relevant knowledge and understanding to meet the requirements of current Building Regulations for the design and installation of solid fuel appliances and heating systems fed by solid fuel in domestic properties. Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will receive an APHC Solid Fuel certificate of competence. This may then enable that person to join the APHC Competent Persons Scheme. Suitable for: Anyone involved or who intends to become involved in the design and installation of solid fuel heating systems. This does not just apply to installers but also architects, specifiers, merchants, chimney sweeps etc.

About this course
The course is aimed primarily at practicing heating engineers who already have some knowledge of the fundamental requirements of solid fuel appliances and heating systems, as well as plumbing principles.
