Areas of Study

(1) Finance

This area includes the research of commercial bank management and innovation, investment banking and capital market, and financial risk management.
Students are mainly engaged in the researches of commercial bank credit decision management system, risk investment, commercial banks pricing of new products, financial instruments and capital market, M&A, financial innovation and financial risk, risk measurement and control, exchange rate risk prediction, etc.


(2) Industrial Economics and Policy

This area includes the researches of industrial strategy, industrial organization theory and policy, economics in textile industry, international competitiveness if industries.
This area focuses on decision-making basis for the formulation of industrial policy, theories of economies of scale, economies of scope, entry and exit barriers, and modern industrial organization. Especially in the field of textile and apparel industry,in the background of economic globalization, the gap of the international competitiveness of various industries, the main constraints and proposed countermeasures. Students will be aware of the changes in market supply and demand in the leading industries, pillar industries and emerging industries by applying the theories and analyzing opportunities and challenges of the industries.

(3) Fashion and Creative Industries

This area includes the researches of fashion industry competitiveness, creative industry theory and Policy, creative industry cluster value network, creative industry park competitiveness and strategic planning of cultural and creative industries.
These researches focus on the transformation, development strategy and upgrading of traditional industries, including the law of development and the supporting policies of animation, video, games, industrial design, MICE tourism, luxury goods and other emerging industries.

(4) International Trade Theory and Practice

This area includes the research of international trade theory and policy, regional economic cooperation, and international trade in textile.
Students are mainly engaged in the researches of trade in goods, trade in services, trade in intellectual property rights, theories and policies of economic and technical cooperation, China's trade relations with its major trading partners, WTO law, ICC trade rules, trade in textile and apparel, regional trading arrangements, import and export practices.

(5) Regional Economics

The area includes the researches of the evolution of spatial pattern of regional economy, regional economic connection, regional policy, and regional effects of macro-economic policies from the macroeconomic perspective; regional development model, conversion and optimization of regional industrial structure, urban economy, urban-rural integration, regional markets, urban and regional sustainable development from economic perspective; and (foreign)direct investment location choices, business organizations, corporate mergers and the formation of conglomerates, regional economic activities such as industrial restructuring and the transformation of across-region sectors from micro-economic perspective .
