Effective farm management has never been more important. As farmers and landowners seek to develop and diversify within a globalised international industry, it’s vital that the farm business leaders of the future have the knowledge and skills to survive and, ultimately, thrive.

You will benefit from a first year of studies based on the principles of agriculture, food production and an introduction to business management before progressing to specialist farm business management modules in years two and three.

The range of systems adopted on our farms provide a valuable insight into the current realities of commercial farming, while our new Rural Innovation Centre allows for a variety of on-farm research, bridging the gap between the laboratory and the farmer. We also deliver rural skills training courses, designed to complement academic studies and meet the needs of future employers.

You will complete a 20-week work placement in the second year of the course, giving you the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise. This combination of vocational and academic skills creates highly competent and employable graduates.
